The Unconventional Path

My journey began not in a classroom, but at a pharmacy counter—watching my grandfather build relationships with patients who trusted him not just with their prescriptions, but with their lives. He taught me that pharmacy wasn't about counting pills. It was about solving problems, building trust, and being the healthcare provider people could actually reach.

In 2013, UT Austin featured my early work on collaborative healthcare models through Project Collaborate. Even then, I was asking: Why do patients bounce between disconnected providers? Why can't we build systems that actually communicate? Those questions would drive the next decade of my career.

In 2014, I opened Lake Hills Pharmacy—a compounding pharmacy that proved personalized medicine works when you customize solutions to individual biology. Not mass-produced one-size-fits-all. Custom formulations tailored to each patient's metabolism, allergies, and needs.

But I kept hitting the same wall: outdated systems, disconnected data, and a "sick care" model that waited for people to get sick instead of keeping them healthy.

In 2020, I began my TPA leadership journey as Treasurer, learning the organization from the inside. By 2022, I advanced to Vice President, where I led legislative strategy and advocacy efforts.

In 2024, I became President of the Texas Pharmacy Association, leading 5,000+ pharmacy professionals across Texas. My mission: protect patient access and empower pharmacists to practice at the top of their license.

We faced massive challenges—PBM overreach, unfair DIR fees, pharmacy deserts. But after years of persistent advocacy, we achieved a historic victory: Texas Senate Bill 1236 (SB1236) passed in 2025.

SB1236 protected 4.3 million Texans by banning retroactive PBM fees, ensuring transparency, and safeguarding community pharmacies. Texas became a national model for pharmacy reform.

By 2019, I was frustrated. We'd won legislative battles, but the underlying system was still broken. Patients were still confused. Pharmacies were still drowning in paperwork. Care was still fragmented.

So I taught myself to code. Built API integrations. Learned AI and automation. And in 2020, I founded Nimbus Healthcare—a tech-enabled platform where diagnostics, provider visits, personalized protocols, and compounded therapies live under one roof.

Today, Nimbus serves over 120,000 patients monthly. Our clinical decision engine IntelliHealth™ automates 85% of routine tasks. Our AI health coach Aura™ provides 24/7 patient support. But every protocol is overseen by a pharmacist. Every significant change is reviewed by a clinician. AI enables. Pharmacists lead. Clients succeed.

In 2024, I was honored as the OU Anthony Distinguished Lecturer, sharing our model with the next generation of pharmacists.

Now, I'm launching NovaMed—a B2B platform that lets other pharmacies implement the same pharmacy-led care loops we've proven at scale. I'm mentoring students to become builder-clinicians. And I'm championing the belief that pharmacists—not tech companies—should lead healthcare's AI transformation.

This isn't just business. It's personal. I'm building the healthcare system I want for my son's generation—one that's preventative, personalized, and powered by technology that serves clinicians and patients, not the other way around.
